Good Korean restaurants in Seattle

dliu | Jun 8, 200308:51 PM

Hey all,

Does anyone know of good Korean restaurants in Seattle? In particular, I'm looking for places that serve good chi-ge (tofu stew) and bbq'd meats (bulgolgi and kalbi). Since coming up from the Bay Area, I've been craving some good Korean food, but have found it amazingly scarce here in Seattle. I've tried Shilla, which was pretty horrible (at least their tofu stew), and Hosoonyi way up in Edmonds, which was pretty good.

A second criteria is the complimentary plates of small side-dishes which are served with every meal. I think they're sometimes overlooked, since they are side-dishes, but if they're good, they really make the meal come alive.

Oh yes -- a great bonus is if the rice is cooked in those clay pots... gives a nice nutty flavor.

Any suggestions for places to try?

BTW, I just discovered this website, and I'm thrilled! :)

Cheers,

Dave
