Great if that's what you want.
This a small, modern place with a small, simple menu where you go for grilled meat. I go for the deep fried yellow potatoes.
"Alan" is not the owner's name. He is from North Ossetia which used to be part of Georgia, (not the Georgia that you have on your mind), but with the help of the Russians in a bit of a war with Georgia, it recently became sort of independent, albeit unrecognized by most of the world. Or maybe it was South Ossetia. All this is too complicated for me, but look, at least I had heard of Ossetia and I knew that it wasn't a kind of pasta. "Alan" is the name of ethnic group who live there, they are ethnically distinct from the Georgians and have their own language.
You go there for skewers of meat or for the New Zealand lamb chops. They even have boar. And the deep fried sliced potatoes, of course. The two soups, lentil and kharcho, are good. I prefer the lentil, which has a lot more than lentils in it. I always get the one skewer luyla kebab (minced beef-lamb mix). It comes with a portion of yellow potatoes, deep fried, enough for two and a small salad, always fresh and I refuse the dressing, which is plain vegetable oil. Only $9 net if to go. An excellent value and tasty. End of the meal problem.
The Persian bread is good as is the house-made pickling. They have some Russian appetizer stuff if you ask.
I think that they are closed for a week until 15JULY. The set up a sign that has two wheels to change the dates, but they set it up improperly so it doesn't tell me anything.
