I'm in San Diego for the week for a conference, and it's looking likely that I won't be able to get away from the conference at all, so I'm trying to find some good places to eat in the area of the Convention Center. Today I trusted the recommendation of someone at the hotel I'm at, and went to the Pier Cafe at Seaport Village; having learned my lesson, I'm not turning to some folks who I'd hope would have a little better taste. (For those who haven't been to the Pier Cafe, it's in a nice enough location, but the menu is very plain and limited (three or four types of fried fish, and a few plain-sounding grilled salmon-style dishes), and the two interesting sounding items (cajun fish tacos and scallop ceviche) were bland beyond belief.) This close to Mexico and the coast, I'd like to try some good seafood and a nice mole, but I'd be open to anything good in the area. Thanks in advance.
