Here's the deal: my sister, parents, and a friend (of Italian descent) will be dining sometime soon in Little Italy (it must be Little Italy). Money is not really an object, but they don't want to get too dressed up. I've been to Amicci's - good, but too casual for them; La Tavola - nice, but that was three years ago; and La Scala - adequate. I believe these are three of the more decent, inexpensive places. I've ruled out the ones that have been there forever (Sabatino's, Vellegia's, Chiaparelli's etc), which leaves me with Aldo's, Boccaccio, and Della Notte. Although I realize this neighborhood's "hound" reputation, any input on these would be appreciated.
