Good fish & chips OR fish sandwich?

MB | Apr 22, 2004 01:28 PM

Someone got me thinking about this today. I wouldn't even know where to go for good fish & chips. The sandwiches is another story:

Riverside on River Street in Cambridge - right near the intersection by Whole Foods. It's the basics: fried fish, shredded lettuce, tomato, mayo but darn are they good.

Rosebud in Davis Square - yep, believe it or not. It's been about a year, but I had a great fish sandwich there - a big ol' filet folded onto a bulkie roll with all the fixins.

Charlie's in Lynn - wow, I might not even remember how to get there but this one wins hands down. They hand batter the fish and fry it while you wait. I recall there being a large and a small and they mean LARGE. Fresh fish, bulkie roll, fresh fixins.

Of course, I always add a little hot sauce.

So, where do you go?
