Good eats in Westport/New Bedford (long)

Went to the Dennisport a few weekends ago and was disappointed with the food/restaurant selections. Not so with this past weekends pick of Westport area for a getaway.

Went to Back Eddy in Westport for lunch. The menu seems to be the same, price & all, for either lunch or dinner. I had scallop appetizer, simple w/ a light ginger/lemongrass seasoning and very good. There were 3 or 4 medium sized scallops and cooked just right. For entree I picked the tuna burrito that is actually on the appetizer menu. I was afraid that at $9 it would not be enough because the tuna steak and other fish entrees were $23+. It was perfect and pleanty for a lunch. Seared tuna slices were served open face on a large grilled flour tortilla w/ salsa (pinapple, chilies, cilantro, peppers, onion, maybe tomatoe & garlic), avacado slices, and a few greens. The dish was excellent except that the tortilla would have been better if a tiny bit less grilled. My husband had a Cuban sandwich, his first, and enjoyed it. Looked right to me, right bread & other ingredients.

Dinner was in New Bedford at Antonio's, the Portuguese restaurant with huge portions of wonderful food at inexpensive prices. We shared little necks on half shell, corquets (codfish one was nothing great but husband liked his which had linguisa), and a big seafood dish (lobster, clams, scallops, mussels, shrimp in a zesty tomotoe broth served with rice on side). Sorry I forget what it was called but on the menu it was right under the paella. It was a great meal and the prices were amazing including the wine!
