I've been down here, from CT, for many, many years. I had resigned myself back then that I'll never have good pizza again.
Just last Friday, a gang of us decided to go to downtown Hollywood for beers at that PRL Bar that someone had mentioned on here, earlier.
After a couple of beers, none of us really wanted to leave, but we were starving. We ordered pizza at the place next store, per the suggestion of Raechel, the Bartendress;
Mauro's Pizza is at 1904 Hollywood Blvd. We got a simple cheese pizza. We ate our pizza in the bar, with our beers, and art surrounding us. My friends and I were either very hungry, or very impressed. Many a Mmmm's were going on.
That pizza had to be the best pizza I've had since New Haven CT. Wow! It was thin crusted, very tastey tomato sauce, and lots of cheese and grease. It was excellent. Its been 31 yrs since I've had a good pizza pie joint in my neighborhood.
I felt like I was back in Greenwich Village, in 1972.
Thanks for the suggestion, and I sure wish I had known about this years ago.
