Good Colombian in Norwalk, CT - La Sorpresa

Ate at a good Colombian place in Norwalk the other day. I don't think it's been mentioned on this board, so wanted to give a heads up. I've only been there once, so don't have a lot of info...

It is La Sorpresa, 61 Cedar St. in Norwalk. I got Bandeja Paisa, my usual order at Colombian places. It comes with grilled steak (thin, flank-steak like), chicharron, arepa (the flavorless white puffy kind), rice with an egg on top, avocado, and a bowl of really good pinto beans in a soupy sauce. The chicharron and beans were really good. The rice/egg was standard. The flank steak had really good flavor, but was a little overcooked, which makes it tougher.

The best thing we had was the Arepa de Choclo con queso. It is a thick, grilled yellow-corn arepa with cheese on top. I've not had one before... Best way to describe the flavor and texture if you aren't familiar is grilled corn bread, shaped like a pita bread, with good cheese melted on top. Excellent.

And, as always, I got guanabana con leche. Very good.

I recommend it checking out the place. And all told, my meal came out to 12 bucks, I think...
