I haven't been in for quite a while, and was pleased to see some improvemnet in selection. The fresh veggies are still pretty uninspiring, but the meat case: wow! Good buys for all those wanting to BBQ for Father's Day.
In the bulk-pack cryovac case, tri tip for $2.39#, NY Strips for $4.59#, ribeye for $6.29#, Farmer John (natural) spare rib slabs for $1.79 #. These ribs are consistently lean and tender, with no additives.
In the dairy case, they have Plugra butter for 2.99, and jars of clarified Plugra for about $6 I think.
I also ended up with a pack of frozen mussels in butter sauce and some Contessa frozen shrimp.
They also have lots of Alta Dena dairy products, too, and the prices are very good.
Since TJ's has gone downhill, I'm starting to nose around my town and in different neighborhoods, and finding some great smaller stores. Each has it's own set of goodies. It's fun to discover new treasure troves!
