Godhead Carnitas Tacos in Pasadena

I've been meaning to post this one for a while, but whenever I think of this place I get hungry and space on it. Since I just macked down some carnitas and a brew, though, I figured I'd finally post this. (Yes, I know, I'm having a brew at ten in the morning, and no, I don't care)

PUEBLA TACOS on the NE corner of Lake and Orange Grove (another location off Allen I think on Walnut??) serves up some of the best Carnitas tacos around. There may be better a carnitas joint, but I haven't found it yet. Loose chunks of long cooked pork, fatty and salty, fried crisp in several inches of lard. Finished with some of their constantly refreshed house made salsas (I prefer the really hot stuff which is a puree of roasted jalepenos, pickled onions, and cumin infused carrots)along with a little fresh onion and cilantro and a squeeze of lemon, well, you be the judge. It is best to go when they are not too crowded, so they have the time to leave the pork in the hot fat for those crucial last few seconds. The rest of the menu is good, particulary the menudo on sundays and the enchiladas filled with, what else, carnitas, even the nachos (generally a menu item I avoid). But I never get anything but the carnitas tacos. If you are lucky, you live close enough to get the tacos to go, so that you can buy a beer at the 7-11 next door to have with your meal. I live just down the street, so let me know-maybe I'll let you stop by here so you can enjoy a beer with your food. This is the only place i missed during my feeding frenzy in NoCal last week, comments coming soon to the SF board.)

Dammit, now I'm hungry again.
