With all the complaining about Loblaws, Metro, Sobeys, etc...figured it's time to highlight the one grocery store that does it right (at least I think so). I hadn't been in about a year, and left wondering why.
I could go on about what I like, but one thing worth highlighting is the onslaught of fall veg. I've never seen broccoli so green, maybe I don't get out enough. Purple cauliflower (although it looks like broccoli) and big heads of cabbage. All local stuff.
Also the little pantry stock-ups...Lesters steak spics. Tajin mexican tangy seasoning (goes great on corn). Two kinds of Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ sauce (on sale for $1.99/bottle vs. $3.99 (I think) at Loblaws). Le Puy lentils (not authentic from France, but still delicious). Colombian guava candy.
FYI, was at the Kennedy and Ellesmere location after a trip to the Diana's oyster bar (separate post coming).
