Goat cheese terrine

We have to make a starter dish for a casual get together this Sunday afternoon for about 10 people. We were thinking of a sort of goat cheese terrine, but would like something easily transportable, appropriate for cold weather (it's supposed to hit 60 this weekend in Chicago, but I'm reserving belief), and that can be set out whole, maintain its consistency and be self-served with crackers or bread.

I found a couple epicurious recipes that look promising, but thought I'd check here to see if anyone had any ideas. I'm open to other completely different suggestions as well. Thanks much,
