Glover Park: My Bakery & Internet Cafe

This place opened up in Glover Park this AM. I walked over to check it out. It's right below Theodore's Furniture next door to the Lado School. They have locations in Falls Church and Manassas and now DC.

I walked in and almost tripped. The ground level of the building is uneven and you have to step up to get in. Be careful. I suspect they're going to have to fix this soon. Seems like it might expose them to a lawsuit if someone trips - it's that bad. I picked up their card and they describe themselves as "La Mejor Panaderia Latina" The Best Hispanic Bakery. The inside has a loungy feel to it and there are flat screen terminals/keyboards all over the place. I live close by so I doubt I'll go in there to check e-mail but I am guess others will - especially students at the language school next door.

The bakery bakes a lot of traditional breads and cakes you would expect to see in a hispanic bakery. I'm munching on a Yuca & Cheese bread (I forget the actual name of it) and it's delicious. I'm also having their "Brazilian Coffee" which came out of one of those pump thermoses but it's still pretty good. Much better than the chain place across the street.
