Globe in Larchmont report

Had dinner at the Globe Bar and Restaurant in Larchmont last night after reading some of the comments on this board. It wasn't bad, but I'm not sure what the raves are all about. The place is very attractive; the owners have done a lovely renovation job. Started out with the grilled octopus appetizer ($10): four thin, tough tendrils served with a decent mixture of greens, fingerling potatoes and sweet onions. It was ok, but not special. Then had the globe burger. Again, a nice burger but nothing about it justified the $12.50 price tag. The garlic fries served with it were tasty, but had been under a heat lamp for a while. Service was haphazard... a large staff standing around looking into the dining room and not doing much. Great selection of draft beers though. The place was pretty busy and even in the restaurant part (there is also a large bar in back with big tv screens) it gets pretty loud. Final thoughts: I wouldn't avoid the place, but thought it was overpriced for the dinner we had (2 people, one shared appetizer, 2 burgers and a couple of beers each came to $70, with tip), and there was nothing about the meal that would draw me to make a special trip back there.
