I am a Laphroig drinker by choice, an Islay devotee and the recent recipient of a 12 year old GlenDronach bottled at 43% and finished in Pedro Ximenez and Oloroso Sherry casks. While never my first choice or even on my list of Scotch I prefer, this has all the parts of great Scotch as far as I am concerned. I have always felt that finishing Scotch in Sherry barrels is merely a way to hide the distilling short cuts taken by spirit sellers. This bottling is slowly changing my point of view. With each dram and a drop of fresh water in the glass I am amazed by what is here. I want to thank my friend for gifting this to me. Impressive choice.
