Just a quick shout-out to the homies in Eastie who are still slinging some of the best pie in Boston. ;)
Friday night we went over - it had been a while since I'd been there and I thought I'd read some middling reviews on the Board of late. 15 minute wait outside, on a relatively warm evening, so no worries.
Got the sausage and lamb combo to start - the sausage was decent as always but the lamb was grilled to perfection - just a hair past medium rare - with the hot cherry peppers and an icy cold Bud, it was just heaven.
Then the pizza - pepperoni and garlic - lots of both toppings - the key to the goodness of this pizza may be the cornmeal on the bottom of the crust - I think it allows for a little air space so it cooks lighter and more evenly in the oven - it did not feel heavy or greasy at all. Topped with a good amount of fresh tomato sauce, adequate cheese and lots of garlic - whoo! It seemed even better than I remembered it.
