Boyfriend and I had dinner at Gingergrass, followed by ice cream at Scoops (because Pazzo Gelato was closed).
We had crab + shrimp imperial rolls to start and then I had the pork dumpling appetizer as an entree because it's so big, with a side of bok choy. He had the shaking beef. Everything was pretty tasty. Our two gripes (or I should say my, because I'm the more critical one): The entire restaurant was filled with grease vapor tonight. We could have been at Soot Bul Jeep. Maybe we were. I could barely see through the fog, and all of my clothes smell like that now. Don't you all hate that? The other thing, the bf's entree was tiny. I mean I think there was 1/3 cup of beef on his plate. I felt bad because he said he was starving.
Scoops was fantastic. I really want to support this guy in his business, so please, everyone, pay him a visit or two. Don't just go to Pazzo Gelato. This place is not that far from Silverlake, while not being in Silverlake. a couple of tonight's unusual flavors: chocolate wasabi (which was very spicy!) and vegan goji berry and some other fruit, I forget what now.
