gift basket/mail order suggestion

I'd like to send my sister and family some sort of food gift basket, but am unsure of where to turn. No, I don't want the old "harry & david" stuff but something a little original and good that they'll enjoy. My first thought is some sort of Italian gift basket, perhaps some really good pasta, olive oil, tomato sauce. Stuff that is not too perishable. But at the same time, I don't want a basket filled with items they could easily find at the market or even a gourmet food store. Something a bit more original than that, but it seems there are so many options to sift through and I'm not sure where to start (or even what's good and/or notable.) Anyone have any suggestions? I'm looking to spend around $50, so on the somewhat frugal side.
I remember reading abt some sort of New Orleans basket which seems cool + I'd be psyched to contribute to that economy, but again, not sure where to turn.

I know the best thing would be to acquire assorted things on my own but honestly I don't have the I can shortcut but still deliver on a good gift.

Any thoughts, ideas, appreciated.
