Georgian Street Scene in Watchung

I had the misfortune to stop at this place a couple of weeks ago. It's a Georgian restaurant on Route 22 westbound in Watchung.

It was a little before noon so I wasn't surprised that I was the only one in the restaurant. However, during the next 30 minutes not one other person came in. And now I know why!

Things started well when I received a nice hot basket of bread. The first piece wasn't bad at all but by the time I got to the second all the pieces were tough and chewy. Can you spell microwave?

My lamb stew arrived and it was truly awful. It was a bowl full of fatty, greyish meat with a greasy sauce poured over it. It might have been mutton but it definitely was not lamb. I am convinced that it was mastadon meat. I ate about a third of this concoction, paid my bill and left. Since I was now really hungry, I stopped at a burger joint on the way home.

Service was very good throughout my half hour experience but nothing will get me back to this place.
