General Soup Question...

yerbamate170 | Aug 20, 201502:59 PM     11

Hello, I had a basic question about soup generally, or specifically for Miso Soup which I want to try and make...
I have watched a couple of videos showing how Miso Soup is made, and it seems pretty simply: making the broth, then adding tofu/veg.

However, I've not been able to find a recipe that includes meat - so my question is, if I wanted to add some thinly sliced chicken or pork to the miso soup, could I add this raw, into the broth? At what stage would I add it?
I was thinking to make the broth, add the meat, then when it's almost done, add the tofu and veg, would this work?

Alternatively would it be better to cook the meat separately first, then add it to the soup along with the tofu and veg? Thanks in advance!
