Gaylord's/Gaylord's India Restaurant Mystery

Gary Soup | Aug 21, 200301:38 PM     13

Our CEO is in town and taking the whole staff out to dinner. Since he's a fan of Indian Food, we made a reservation at the Embarcadero Center Gaylord's. (I guess the Tandoorloin just wasn't toney enough.)

When our receptionist couldn't find a phone number initially for that Gaylord's, she called the one at Ghirardelli Square and was told that "It's a diffrent restaurant."

All of the references and reviews I found on Google state or imply that the Ghirardelli Square Gaylord's and the Embarcadero Center Gaylord's are two branches of the same restaurant. On the other hand, they have separate web sites, and neither web site mentions the other's restaurant. Did the two Gaylords' split recently? Or were they never related (hard to believe?)

Incidentally, is the food any good? It's obviously pricey (luckily that won't be a consideration in this case).
