Last night, I made the Roasted Lemongrass Chicken from the current (August) issue of Bon Appetit. It was wonderful by the way. The recipe called for both fish sauce and oyster sauce. When I was getting ready for bed I saw that I was developing hives! Maybe about 20 of them on my chest, neck, and forehead. I took some Benedryl and went to sleep with no further issues.
So my question is, was it the fish sauce or the oyster sauce? Both jars have been used before, not something new to my system. Any ideas?
