Gatineau - Fleur de Sel (review)

Had lunch at a new restaurant on the Laval strip in former downtown Hull. I thought I would post a review as there seems to have been a lot of traffic about vegetarian options in Ottawa over the last little while and Fleur de Sel is billed as a "gourmet vegetarian" restaurant. Says so right there on the side of the building. A friend says it also has fish and seafood, but that must be at night, because the lunch menu was all veggie.

It was good with some interesting vegetarian choices, but fairly expensive for lunch and the meal was a bit slow arriving. I was in a big group, however, and the service itself was very friendly and attentive. Its a small restaurant and the the atmosphere was quite nice with lots of dark wood and green everything. My lasagna was a bit disappointing (more like a cannelloni) but my friend's eggplant dish looked really enjoyable and she was happy with it.

I'd be interested to go back for dinner - the menu looked more extensive and I think a leisurely meal might be more suitable than a semi-hurried lunch.
