Okay, this will sound really amateurish, but I have a question for the hounds who are home chefs. We purchased a house that has a gas stove and oven. I've had very very limited experience with gas appliances. So I suppose what I'm seeking are some tips for cooking/baking with gas appliances vs. electric. Like, when a recipe calls for cooking on "medium heat", that is a very subjective thing and I'm guessing the "medium" setting for a gas stove would get much hotter than for an electric element?? Or when I bake, is an electric oven more consistent than a gas oven in terms of heat distribution?? The last thing I want to do is burn down my new house so any tips you can provide would be greatly appreciated!
