Hi all! We just got a new Samsung gas range. I'm 57 and have never used a gas range - in fact, it scares me - I'm afraid of blowing up :) My hubby wanted it as he's tired of burning food on the electric range due to the poor response time when lowering heat. I too know (logically) that the heat can be controlled much better with a flame. Having never cooked with gas, I don't know how... I'm a pretty good cook, but just want to know if there are any nuances in using a gas cooktop that make it different than cooking on my former electric ceramic cooktop?
