I recently participated in a cooking class conducted by "Three Guys from Miami." Very fun guys, two of whom were raised in very Cuban families, the third who married into the family.
At any rate, they did some great reviews (including pictures and some menu highlights) on some Los Angeles Cuban favorites.
Some of the highlighted restaurants include Versailles, Havana Mania (Redondo Beach), El Cochinito (LA), La Cubana (Glendale), etc. While they themselves aren't 'Hounds, their reviews are quite 'Houndish, and may be helpful for those in search of really good, authentic Cuban cuisine. I've been to Versailles and Havana Mania, and while I've not been to Cuba itself, or even Miami for the closest thing to true Cuban food, I can say that I've always enjoyed my dinners at Versailles and Havana Mania.
