Just returned from a road trio from Cambridge, Ma to Deerfield Beach Fl. Our first food stop was FT Lee. Hiram's hot dogs was stop number 1 but was closed on the Friday after Thanksgiving. On the way to Hiram's i noticed The Plaza Diner. I had a steak ( london broil) sandwich on a roll and my spouse had the turkey wrap. Mine was perfect, just like th ones I used to get as a child in another part of NJ. The turkey wrap was home cooked style and also delicious. If possible skip the french fries. These are very weak and not worth the calories.
AS you can probably guess. I timed the return trip to get us into FT Lee at lunch time for a chili dog at Hiram's. These are cooked in oil but not long enough to crack the skin and soak up thr oil like at Rut's Hut. To me, two of these are as good as it gets. The fries here are better than at The Plaza but still not worth the calories. Also, try the birch beer. A NJ treat. If you are interested see the rest of my posts as we ate in Philadelphia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and Florida.
