Having just commenced the daunting task of remodeling our kitchen, I'm left with a refrigerator, rice cooker, microwave, electric kettle and toaster in my study, erm, temporary kitchen.
Yesterday, I went to Shanghai restaurant (Oakland Chinatown) and purchased frozen wontons, potstickers and xiao long bao.
Now to my question - can I pop frozen xiao long bao in boiling soup in my rice cooker a la wonton soup? Can I boil them in water in my rice cooker? Or blasphemously, can I microwave them?
My next project is a hunt for frozen tamales (that will have to be microwaved, of course). Any votes on La Boriquena (sp.)
