I learned a wonderful seasoning tip from a good 'ol Kentucky friend. He gave me many many semi-hot banana peppers and I did what he said.
Clip the ends,(both), half longways, dip in thin batter and frie them in the grease you are going to put your chicken, chops, or other in. When they are brown and through cooking, drain them on paper towels. They then make great snacks and are not hot at all.
The reward is, the meat you fry in this oil or grease then has a great flavor that is not hot, but very tasty and subtle. Enjoy
