My expert-on-everything colleague (my boss, actually, so I hope he is not a CH visitor) swears that there is no fried chicken in NYC to equal the fried chicken he ate at Thelma's Kitchen in downtown Atlanta what--a decade ago? 2? Floured (he thinks) and then fried in big cast-iron skillets; no other details. So Chowhounders, please prove him wrong. He sees nothing particularly worthy about New York City, either; I don't think there is much hope of convincing him otherwise (if you don't see it right away...) but great fried chicken might help. Any borough.
