We had a wonderful week on San Juan Island. Breakfast was at Churchill's every morning. Great breakfast sandwiches. We had lunch at Market Chef...very nice fresh selection. We had salad and sandwiches. Another great place for lunch or a glass of wine is San Juan Island Cheese Bistro on Nichols a block or so from the dock. Nice cheese plates and great carry out selection featuring a variety of cheeses including some local options. The bakery (on Nichols as well I think) was another good lunch stop. For dinner one night we picked up a pizza at Bakery San Juan around 4:30 just before they closed at 5. Reheated it. Pretty decent. Wish they stayed open later as a fresh pie would have been better. Two excellent recs for dinner....Duck Soup...a short drive from town in the woods. What a lovely dinner. Charming restaurant...excellent service...very good food. Entrees include a small soup and salad...had steak diane....pork chop...everything was delicious. Another option is The Place right near the dock. We had appetizers during happy hour. Very nice but pricey. Apps for two with three glasses of wine came to over $100. We didn't make it to Coho or Mike's Wine Bar...but hope to next time as they both look good.
