FreshDirect, when you can't be bothered to go out

I ordered from Fresh Direct, you know, you've seen the truck with buy $100, get $50.00 Fresh Food, right??

Anyway, it works better than I could have dreamed.

I am x-pro chef and can't stop cooking but I have terrible Arthritis in my knees and feet, which makes walking to shop a miserable "unworldy" experience. I have been searching for a better, or at least workable, online shopping experience for groceries for some time.

The Fresh Direct website is extremely user friendly and forgiving. The food prices are certainly comparable or below, to Met on Henry St and Key Food on Atlantic, although I continue to purchase my olives and dates at Sahadi's. I feel that, without sitting dowm with my calc, I saved at least 20-30% across the board.

I bought: fish, beef, pork, chicken, dairy, tofu, veggies, fruit, grocery, pet food and litter, deli, and some specialty items, as well as frozen veggies like okra and lima beans. Bulk meat and cases of water and seltzer are available. Haagen Daz Ice Cream, $2.69/pint.

Pick your own delivery time with a two-hour window and the guys call when they're close. Mine were early, which was great. No tipping.

I suggest you check the website. Please do not confuse my exhilaration for this shopping site as any remote involvment with the Fresh Direct company. I'm just particularly thrilled to be able to purchase fresh food without the crap I normally have to go through with my body, just to get milk, soup, cat food and litter home.
