Fresh Blenheim Apricots from Wind Swept Farms in Hollister

Melanie Wong | Jul 4, 201501:08 PM     4

Last Saturday my friend spotted the farmstand for Wind Swept Farms when she was passing through Hollister. She bought a flat of fresh Blenheim apricots. This grower has devoted its crop strictly to the dried market in the past, but with demand for fresh Blenheims and customers willing to buy direct, it's giving the fresh market a try.

The apricots were bigger than average and darker hued in skin and flesh color. They had a wonderful floral perfume that made them stand apart from the other cots we preserved. The steaming hot pot of jam had a lovely Tahitian vanilla scent though we had not added vanilla of any kind.
