Frenchmen St reqs for group

jck | Oct 14, 200810:23 AM     6

We are starting to organize our bi-yearly April Orleans visit and of course my job is to plan the traditional Thursday night dinner. The group size will be in the 8-12 number and we are all couples in our mid 40 to 50ish range and everyone in our group are experienced NO visitors. We are fun folks who love to eat, drink, dance, and generally have a good time. We have only eaten once in this area (at Adolpho's post Jazzfest night maybe 5 years ago) and thought it would be fun to cavort in this part of town that night. What restaurants would you suggest in the area that can handle a larger group easily (reservations?) and have a great vibe/atmosphere and outstanding food. Price is not really a factor but....let's keep it real. My initial thoughts are that fine dining is slightly limited in this area (more entertainment oriented?) but maybe I am not in the loop. As you may guess, stuffy dining is not our goal.

After reading through the forum, I was leaning towards Cochon? but thought I would give a call out to the Frenchmen area with the thought process we can easily play and get our music fix that night with minimal travel and some of our group have never been there. Thanks. jck
