I'm a college student interested in taking 5 or 6 friends out to dinner for my birthday (mom is paying as a gift) and am a French food freak. I've visited Paris a few times and I tend to like the stereotypical stuff--moules frites, escargots, steak-frites, lots of cheese and seafood and steaks etc.
I've been looking a lot (I could spend a lifetime just admiring menus of restaurants) and seem to have it narrowed down to:
The Quarter Bistro
The Earle (downtown)
I've heard consistently good things about Eve, but when I strolled in for a menu the other day I found the place a bit stuffy, and though the appetizers look great, the menu lacks some of the traditional french fare I seek (and it's a bit short).
Quarter Bistro and The Earle are a bit better in that department (menu items). Comments on the food itself? Any restaurants I'm missing? All help appreciated.
