Following Anniebs recommendation, I stopped at Fredines Saturday night. Unfortunately they were out of ribs (at 9pm) so I made do with tips and links. Im not usually a huge fan of rib tips but these were pretty good with a decent amount of meat and some good smoke flavor. I enjoyed the hot links too. When I ordered, they took a couple links from the smoker and finished them in the deep fat fryer. As advertised, they had a sort of loose texture and were heavy on the red pepper flakes. Im mad at myself because I forgot to get one order with hot sauce (I assume they have it?). The default mild sauce was decent (not overly sweet) but I almost always prefer the hot versions anywhere. Fries were nothing special but thats the way it almost always is. I will return some day to try the ribs (and hot sauce). I would tentatively say its some of the best barbecue Ive had north of Lake Street but no threat to Lems. The people working there seemed very nice indeed. Thanks, Annieb, for mentioning it.
