Franklin Street Bakery - MPLS

New building and small open bakery for this normally wholesale bakery business. The building is a very nice addition to this blighted section of Franklin Avenue.

Oddly, the fenced parking area does not have a door or even an open gate to get to the bakery, you have to walk out the driveway.

Store is small, with a few very nice looking items. You can see directly into the large, wholesale barery area through windows. Franklin Street does make great breads and rolls. I thought it was odd that the store does not display the breads in the open, ie not sliced and in plastic bags (a bread no-no). Turtle Bread does a better job at this. Leave the whole loaves out in the open for display.

Odd note, I ordered two almond croissants, both were well made and tasty, YET both had a hair - looked like a cat hair or something - in them. Yet, everyone wore scrub-like outfits - looks like Wonka's factory workers. Maybe a fluke, but a poor one considering the bakery is not new, per se.
