I've noticed this place on past visits but never had a chance to try it. The location is odd. It's in an old convenience store on Keystone Rd. - an area which is largely residential. Since it survived the endless road construction I figured it might be good.
A Restaurant.com coupon added the nudge I needed to give it a try.
My parents live nearby and age has reduced their ability to go out much. I purchased a sampler to go in hopes that this place could become a bbq option now that their favorite is too far away.
I bought a 3 meat sampler (18.95) with pulled pork, brisket and baby back ribs. Sides were baked beans and slaw. Brunswick stew and corn bread was included in the package.
Pulled pork was dry. Brisket had good flavor but would have benefited from more cooking as it was tough. The ribs were tender and very nice. Slaw, beans and corn bread were substandard. I didn't try the stew but my Mother's aide brought the containers home and said her family enjoyed them.
Maybe they were having an off day but I'll pass on trying them again.
