Fork dilemma

bsugarcream | Oct 2, 202112:07 PM     6

We need a few more forks in our silverware drawer so I've been shopping around. I am a big Costco fan so I decided to look there. They don't sell sets of forks by themselves so I figured it might be more cost effective to purchase an entire set of flatware (and the quality is probably higher that way). For the money, we might consider just replacing everything. I purchased one set of silverware (can't remember the brand) and it was very nice but there was one problem- both salad and dinner forks were enormous. I was so surprised that I compared them to our current forks and literally they were both 30% larger. So large they might puncture our mouths. I mean, I understand vanity sizing is a trend, but with flatware? Dinner forks are the new salad forks? So I went back to Costco and purchased a beautiful Mikasa set. Same issue. Gigantic. Btw, the problem extended to the spoons. One of the sets had soup spoons of such gargantuan proportions that they would clearly only work as serving spoons. The saga continued as I stopped by Bed, Bath and Beyond to check their flatware section. You guessed it- flatware made for King Kong. Anyway, I am now in a quandary as we really need forks. Any advice appreciated.
