Went to Fork again this past Friday. Again an excellent time and meal. My friend got the prix fixe. She started with a spinach salad with a blue chesse dressing. I think there were mandarin oranges and nuts in there too. I tried a bite and it was good - perfectly tossed with the dressing, which I always appreciate. She had the salmon for her entree and butterscotch vanilla bean pudding for dessert. All great. I'm a sucker for foie gras so I ordered it again. This time it came drizzled with a 20 year old balsamic and a tiny rhubarb mint tart. As I was enjoying it something strange and wonderful happened. My waiter stopped by and told me to save a couple bites; then he sped off. I was totally confused and momentarily worried that something was wrong with my food. I shouldn't have, because he appeared with a half glass of sauternes saying, "I just want to turn you on to these flavors together." He then hustled off to leave me in utter bliss. That has never happened to me in a restaurant before! Later as we were leaving he made some comment about being a foie gras junkie too. Anyway, I had a wonderful halibut dish for my entree. It was in a pool of saffron cream with romesco and something else I forget, but it was great. I had to get the butterscotch pudding again for dessert - it's so good. I'm not a dessert person and usually have no problem turning it down, but I'm a sucker for that pudding. We also noticed a sign on the adjacent building indicating that Fork is expanding into the space. They must be doing well. Yippee!
