My first trip to New Orleans in October and we managed to avoid all the big name tourist restaurants and hit places the locals like:
Deanies is a great lunch place in the French Quarter- clean, spacious with a friendly staff-but I warn you- if you order the grilled shrimp platter- split it with someone. The portions are enormous! You start out with a bowl of little red boiled potatos to snack on, then a salad, THEN the shrimp in great barbecue sauce and bread and (oxymoron) the shrimps are HUGE!
We waddled back to our hotel for a nap.
yeah I know- here's another plug for my site. No chow hound, other dogs though, just cartoons and portraits and stuff. the dogs are all well fed, is that enough of a foodie connection? Enjoy.
