Forest Hills to Beacon Hill

Noticed that the new cafe on Hyde Park Ave. across from Forest Hills T stop is open, Java Joe's I think is the name. Pretty cute place, lots of tables, brick walls with art on it. Just opened last Tues. so they weren't even sure how much the baked products were. Grabbed an oatmeal w/ cranberry cookie for $1.50 that was pretty good. Nice to have something like that on that ugly little stretch of street, hopefully it takes off.

Ate at the Paramount on Charles St. for only the second time. 3:00 on Sun. seems to be a safe time to go with no waiting. Fairly limited menu of breakfast items, salads and sandwiches w/ fries but reasonably priced and the food is ready in no time. I was thinking to myself how great this was when I realized that my grilled cheese w/ bacon and tomato had no bacon or tomato. The guy said he could make me a new one but I figured I'd just get the money back and not wait, but the girl didn't know how to credit me so I waited for a new sandwich. But she offered a soda to make up for everything which was nice and for $4.75 w/ fries, that was a pretty good deal and a tasty sandwich. How can people not eat bacon?
