In two weeks my husband and I leave for an eight day trip split between Bologna and Florence(main draws food and art). Armed with the information found on this board and my new Slow Food guide I feel ready to enjoy and explore the restaurants. I would love some advice, however, on a few food key items that I should make sure to bring back. I checked the customs list, so know that I am limited to mostly baked and bottled goods and maybe some cheeses. I will certainly try to bring some Parmesan cheese - any other recommendations? Oils, vinegars (we are going to take a quick trip to Modena as well)? I live near NYC, so maybe I shouldn't buy too much as many things may be available here. Any thoughts?
