Food options at Amazon Go

Ruth Lafler | Dec 27, 201812:14 PM

I dropped in to the Amazon Go near my office (California and Battery, SF) this week. For the most part, I don't think it's very useful -- I could buy the same or equivalent items at one of the ubiquitous Walgreen's for less.

However, they did have an interesting and tasty looking selection of fresh prepared foods and meal kits. The prices were high, but not outrageous. I assume they vary from store to store, depending on the local purveyors. They also have seating, WiFi, a microwave and water available if you want to buy something to eat onsite.

The fun part was the thrill of feeling as if I were shoplifting (picking up a chocolate bar, putting it in my pocket and heading through the exit) without any guilt.

Has anyone tried any of their offerings?
