food and lodging on North Fork

We will be going to a wedding on the North Fork of LI in late July and will probably be staying a couple of extra days. Since Long Island for me is uncharted territory (my only experience was a disastrous summer share in West Hampton eight years ago), I need lots of help with food and where to stay. I did a search and came up with Wild Goose, Hellenic Snack Bar and Aldo's. Are those still recommended? And we are VERY serious about breakfast! Where is a good breakfast place? Thanks.
