Getting quite fed-up with these food festivals in metro Halifax. We went to the Indian Food Festival on the weekend. First food booth upon entering was serving those dreadful President's Choice packaged naans - may as well have been Ben's, $12.95 for some basmati rice, half a horrid naan and 2 soup spoons of butter chicken plus a spoon of something else, a rip-off and no taste. Last booth from the door was using a President's Choice squeeze bottle with some PC sauce. The other booths were serving tasteless appetizers. $40 later both of us left hungry and disappointed.
Here's my point, a street vendor in India can serve up fresh, imaginative and tasty food for 300-400 people a day. So why can the same not happen at these local food festivals?
