I’d had good restaurant vibes from this place on 55th between 6th & 7th for awhile – I go by there all the time – but never heard anything positive, and it’s more pricey than cheap. finally ate dinner there, and it was a triumph of our food-dar! if I knew everything we ordered would have such a perfect texture I would’ve ordered pasta – flavors were also present in nice balance and not washed out. the fish special was perfectly seared for a nice crusty exterior and inner succulence, and the custard dessert was similarly precision-engineered, dense and delicate at the same time, and I don’t think all this was a lucky accident. everything we had was prepared just so, bread, crudo, wine. they have traditional items like sardines nicely nouvelled up, the waiter was knowledgeable and helpful, and I appreciate the fancy restaurant in Italian boondocks décor.
just wanted to say so since it doesn’t look like this place has been properly represented here.
