OK, here's the deal. Michael & I recently went to The Meetinghouse for dinner. It was fabulous. Wonderful comfort food. I had a lovely soup, grilled pork with a stunning reduced sauce and green garlic grits. Quiet, Nice atmosphere, Pleasant service, etc., etc... But the next day, we felt that the $70 per person price tag would prevent us from being able to eat there very often. (We had apps, entree, wine, dessert).
They bring out a basket of breads that includes some very Southern biscuits (light, flaky, buttery) which I have not seen much of here in SF. Michael & I commented at the time that we would have to check out their brunch to see if they serve biscuits & gravy.
Now I find out that Hotel Utah, which is overseen by people from The Meetinghouse, offers a basket of biscuits & a side of gravy for $3! Holy Moly! Zach was there and praised Hotel Utah's burger, but failed to mention this incredibly important piece of information.
So people, its time to focus! I'm officially deputizing you! If you know of some great biscuits & gravy location or for that matter, see a decent looking Chicken Fried Steak or a lovely spicy southwest-style tamale or excellent crispy, crunchy hash browns - For god's sake, let me know!
FYI - I'm on a hideous diet & am not allowed to eat wantonly until Saturday but I'll be at Hotel Utah then and I'll let you know how the biscuits & gravy measure up.
