A new vegetarian Chinease restaurant is opining on Flatbush Avenue near Saint Marks. I told the owner that people would come if he served exciting innovative vegetarian cuisine. He didn't really get it and told me that, "We are cooking western style" I tried convincing him that this would be the wrong approach and many people in the hood are yearning for new and exciting advernterous Asian food but he grew aggitated at me and was very stubborn. So Park Slopers, except more of the same dribble.
The good news is the "Italian Soul food" restaurant on Vanderbilt next to Muddy Waters will be opening soon and I have a good feeling about the place. The Italian owner is a character and seems passionate about food.
