A Fishy New Years Eve (Do any fish dishes bring good luck?) Followed by NY Day brunch

We are having another couple or two over for New Year's Eve and I'm looking for inspiration--

They don't eat meat, but do eat fish, seafood and eggs--

Any ideas for fun, either traditional or 'good luck' type foods (any cultural origin--we are all adventurous eaters) to serve on New Year's eve? We usually like to do some appetizers, main course with a couple of sides and then I'd love to do a fun desert--

I'll also probably do some cheese and grapes right before midnight to serve with Champagne and make sure the everyone has their 12 grapes to eat when the New year arrives.

There will also be kids there--we can either feed them first and put them to bed--or they can join us, but I'd love for some fun and different ideas to bring them in on the excitement.

The following day, we are doing a brunch/lunch type thing with the same group--so any 'must haves' for New Year's Day would be welcome as well.

I love hearing about all of the family traditions that people have--
